What a generous donation…

We would like to say a massive thank you to Stoke Road Vets (Milton Keynes Veterinary Group) for their very generous donations today.
Today we have admitted another mum (who is possibly pregnant again!) and kittens into our care. This takes us up to a total of 30 cats and kittens in care. Therefore, we are in desperate need of adult and kitten food, if you would like to make a donation you can do so using our Amazon wishlist or message us to arrange a drop off or collection.

Thank you to all of you for your continued support.

There was a beautiful boy called Scotty

We thought it was time to share an update on our beautiful Scotty, as we haven’t posted anything since the blog last month.
Scotty is still in the same foster place, and we are very slowly gaining his trust. He is between the fine line of feral and tame, and we need to ensure we are doing what is best for him in the choices we make regarding rehoming. Scotty has had a tough past, which makes it hard for him to trust people but once you spend time with him he really starts to soften and lets you give him a stroke and face rub, this is why we are determined to give him a chance to socialise with our volunteers to see if a home with humans is what he wants.
We still have a long way to go with Scotty, but we will be sure to keep you updated on the rest of his journey with us <3

Celebrating our 2 Year Anniversary!

We are proud to say we’ve been helping cats in Milton Keynes now for 2 years!
We had a vision to set up a local cat charity, where all funds raised went entirely on helping cats, and putting them first. Every penny donated helps cats in need. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but we want to do even more!
Our founding trustees – from left to right: Carole, Annie, Stewart and Claire, who between them have almost 40 years’ experience helping stray or unwanted cats – work with a wonderful team of volunteers throughout the city to raise funds, help cats in need, provide foster care, and re-home.
So far, we have rehomed over 140 cats and kittens, including ferals, and pregnant and nursing queens. We’ve also connected with a UK-wide network to rehome senior cats and FIV+ cats, with significant success.
We’d like to thank the cat-lovers of Milton Keynes for their donations over the past two years – thanks to you we’ve been able to give so many cats the care they deserve.
Love cats? We are always looking out for new volunteers for a wide range of roles including fundraisers. All you need is a love of cats, and a passion to do what is right for each one, treating them with respect and compassion, and caring for their individual needs. Get in touch if you’d like to help out.

Second-hand items or want to give a donation? We rely solely on donations and funds raised by attending events in the community – look out for us at local events throughout 2017, and get in touch if you’d like to donate any second-hand items, money or cat supplies.

Thank you once again, from all of us, and the cats you’ve helped!

Princess Pearl

An update on our Princess Pearl, who is indeed a Ragdoll (well done to everyone who guessed correct). She is now reserved and hopefully will be going to her forever home at the end of this week! <3

Rain – Pah won’t dampen our spirits!

With two fundraising events today and some amazing donations we’ve raised approx. £150.

Wolverton Yard Sale

Heron’s Lodge Fun Day

A big thank you to everyone who came out to support both events today. We want to also thank Fiona and Rebecca for their recent food donations.

Your generosity and support means we can get these little ones vaccinated and chipped ready for rehoming in a few weeks.

A knock at the door…

One of our volunteers had a knock at the door this weekend, this little beauty was on the other side with her owner, who was asking us to take her into our care. Of course, we agreed and here is Cassie!
Cassie is only 9 weeks old, and she is so lovely and incredibly friendly. Luckily, we already have someone interested in this sweet girl, therefore she is reserved pending a home visit.
Cats and kittens come into our care through all kinds of circumstances, but hopefully this little lady will find her forever home much sooner than we thought.

Our lovely boy Derek!

Our lovely boy Derek is still looking for his forever home! He is only around 4 years of age, and he should really be in a loving home he can call his own.
Derek is a friendly lad, who loves chin rubs, however he will let you know once he’s had enough of fuss and wants some space. Derek needs to be the only cat in the household, and will need an experienced owner who understands he’s had a troubled past, and just needs someone to give him the love and time he truly deserves.
Could you be the one to give Derek his second chance at life? contact us at mkcatrescue@gmail.com.
