Amazing Donation Day!

Yesterday was officially – amazing donation day. From friends of MK Cat Rescue organising their own collections, to clients atwww.facebook.com/willowvetcentre dropping goodies off, to us receiving donations via our Wishlist. In the picture is just a small amount of what we have received.

Your donations will help cats like Reggie.

A 6 year old neutered male who until recently had a home. Now unwanted he lives on someone’s driveway but at least he is getting food and has shelter. Your donations mean that whilst we wait for a foster space or someone to offer him a home we can provide food for Reggie. So thank you x

Fab Weekend of Fundraising

This weekend was our final push to raise much needed funds to help us through the winter (if it ever arrives!) and also to start seriously looking at buying some cat pens which means we can get more cats off the streets….exciting !! So big thank you to Sue Nicholls, Nikki Houghton, Annie Parker, Stewart Calder, Carole Hallett, (me Claire Henesy yes I’m thanking myself :-)), Barbara Willis & Kath South for taking time out this weekend to volunteer at the stall and also a massive thank you to Fiona Nicholson and Rachel Webb for their kind donations. We raised just over £300.00 which is blinkin marvellous.

I know it sounds corny but together we are making a difference x

Neuter Neuter Neuter

UPDATE 28.12 15

We’re delighted to confirm that having gotten these little ones and their mum vet checked and into a warm, safe environment both kittens have found new homes.  Mum has also not been claimed so will also now find herself a new home.

Sylvester & Marmite

On the 22 October 2015, we were asked to provide support and advice to a lady who had recently found some kittens in East Milton Keynes.  All but one (Sylvester) were friendly.  At 16 weeks old it was a worry that Sylvester couldn’t be handled without a swipe or hiss often with teeth and claws included!  He would stay in his crate and would refuse to come out.

We had a couple of phone calls with Tanya when she was trying to settle Sylvester into the family home and always tried to manage her expectations that perhaps Sylvester would suit a life outdoors….however a few weeks later we were delighted to receive this photo of Sylvester with his sibling Marmite.

Just goes to show what dedication, trust and patience can do.

Some Sad News

It’s with great sadness that we have to announce that our little ginger boy Archie lost his fight on Friday & was put to sleep. We are just thankful that he was in our care so received the love, care and treatment that he needed to relieve his symptoms.
We would like to thank Milton Keynes Veterinary Group for their support over the last week. Never easy & we want to thank Carole our fosterer for doing the feeds, vet runs & just general wonderfulness x We’re pleased to say that mum Ava & her two remaining kittens are doing well. RIP little Archie x
