Festive Fun This Weekend

Well mother nature literally throe everything at us this weekend, rain, wind and it was freezing on Saturday.

All 9 of our volunteers (some featured in the picture) powered through despite the terrible weather & worked as a great team.

We have raised a mindblowing £400 this weekend which will certainly see us through to the new year meaning we can help more cats.

Also a thank you to our fellow feline friends who came and saw us at both Newport Pagnell & Westcroft & to those who have donated food and cat treats. Your support and positive feedback really kept us going this weekend x

Gizmo the Impersonator

Earlier this week we were asked to help find the owners of a male cat that had been a stray for a while in Deanshanger. The chip details were out of date but with a bit of luck and common sense we’ve traced the owner. Gizmo it appears does a very good impersonation of a “hungry stray” but then quite happily heads home for his tea. Please keep your chip details up-to-date folks.

Cats Protection asked us to help having received a report of a mum and 3 kittens living in a shed.  Unfortunately they couldn’t take them so we agreed to bring them into our care this evening.

We believe we have two boys and a girl.  Mum is with them and is happy and healthy we’ve called her Ava.

With the cold nights we’ve been having these little ones are lucky to be alive.

Ava was reported to us on Saturday, 21 November 2015.  She had escaped her new home after only 2 days and hadn’t been chipped.
We spoke to Ava’s owners and offered to lend them one of our humane cat traps as they had already put up a number of lost cat posters in the area and had reported Ava to local vets and animal charities.
On Sunday 22 November 2015, the trap was set near their home but Ava had been spotted at the local school some 10 minutes walk away.  We provided some additional advice on setting up the trap nearby to the school and ensuring that people in the area were aware of what was happening.  The trap needed to be checked regularly and we were delighted to hear on Tuesday, 24 November 2015 that Ava had been successfully trapped and brought into the school by the local caretaker.
Ava was taken home but needed a bath but as you can see was looking rather snug in the video that her owners sent to us.
We’re really delighted that by lending Ava’s owners one of our humane traps that Ava was safely reunited with her owners this morning.

On Friday night we held our first organised event and we raised an amazing £230.

Everyone had a great night and we have to thank Wolverton Top Club for allowing us to hold our event.

Some of our wonderful volunteers
Willow Vets came out to support us 🙂

Coca Cola Team won the night !

We had a lovely time at the MK Vet Group Cat Talk today, met some lovely new friends and the cakes were also rather scrummy.

A big thank you for those that donated or bought items from our stall as we raised £53.81 which will go towards us buying some new cat activity units for our foster cats. We would also like to thank Michele Robinson for the kind donation of kitten food which we have safely received and Ying & Yang are enjoying immensely.
